Restoration of the Transept and Choir
The problem with these ceilings was that the decorative elements were coming off, the ornamentation was deteriorating and there were some cracks. The first phase involved the restoration of the presbytery and ceilings, the second phase, included in the National Plan of Cathedrals, included the restoration of the arms, the central vault and the choir vault.
All of the actions carried out not only respected the historical values of the building but also its constructive coherence. In 2009 this work received the "World Heritage Cities" Award.
