The Cathedral Chapter of Cordoba welcomes visitors at the San Eulogio Courtyard Information and Reception Center, a welcoming space prior to visiting the Mosque-Cathedral. Conceived as a meeting, orientation, and information point, it allows visitors to prepare for their tour and learn about the historical, artistic, and spiritual keys of the monument before entering the temple.
In this Center, visitors will find permanent exhibition halls, audiovisual spaces, scale models of the monumental complex, and various museum resources explaining the historical and architectural evolution of the Mosque-Cathedral, from its origins to its current configuration, as well as the conservation and maintenance work carried out over time. All of this is presented from an educational, accessible, and sustainable approach, aimed at promoting a more organized, conscious, and respectful visit to the monument.
The tour takes place in a unique setting within the Episcopal Palace, where archaeological remains from different historical stages —late antiquity, Visigothic, Islamic, and Christian— can be seen, offering an overall vision that contextualizes the monument within the urban, cultural, and religious history of Cordoba. This preliminary space allows for a better understanding of the complex evolution of the complex and its integration into the city over the centuries.
The San Eulogio Courtyard Information and Reception Center is also a new space created for Cordoba and all its visitors, the result of the Cathedral Chapter's commitment to heritage conservation, improved hospitality, and responsible management of the monument.
Visiting this Center is optional, although it is recommended as the start of the tour, as it provides a preliminary approach that enriches the subsequent experience in the Mosque-Cathedral.
