Chapel of San Esteban and San Bartolomé
Although the exact date on which this chapel was founded is unknown, we are certain that its patronage is linked, from 1490, to the Góngora family, whose coat of arms can be seen in the picture of the gate.
From an artistic viewpoint, we must mention the presence of an altarpiece that houses the painting of the Martyrdom of St. Bartholomew, a local copy from the 17th century inspired by the engraving made by José de Ribera for Enmanuelle Filiberto.
This space undoubtedly stands out due to being the site which houses the funeral urn of Luis de Góngora y Argote, the celebrated Golden Age writer who went on to become canon of Cordoba Cathedral.
